Ron and Colleen Crossland took over the Kenton Marina in October of 2014 from Ken and Dee Keens. Ken and Dee have run the marina for the last 15years, but decided the time had come to take is easy and retire.
Although originally from Cape Town, the Crosslands have owned a house in Kenton-on Sea for many years and spent many hours on the beautiful Bushman’s and Kariega Rivers. Ron’s background is in banking, but he spent his early years in the Merchant Navy and has been an avid sailor for many years. Colleen has a background in the medical sciences and takes care of most of the administrative functions at the Marina.
Since taking over the Marina they have made quite a few changes. They have put in ladies and mens toilet facilities, outside showers, added a friendly outdoor deck with bar counter, and a braai facility should you wish to spend some time relaxing in a pretty garden setting while looking out over the marina.
Our aim is to provide a professional but relaxed and friendly environment to enable all our visitors to enjoy a wonderful experience on the beautiful Bushmans River, which is the second largest navigable tidal river in South Africa. It provides a boating and adventure experience for 30kms passing through private Game parks where it is possible to see the big 5 from the river. There is also abundant bird life, all year round fishing and dedicated sections for the enjoyment of watersports.
